Still photographer T/4 Harry B. Morgan, 25, died of wounds sustained on November 16, 1944 in a Luftwaffe bombing in the Italian village of Monghidoro which also claimed the life of fellow photographer Staff Sergeant Cecil Max Campbell in the same incident. Both men were assigned to the 3131st Signal Service Company. Morgan is buried at the U.S. military cemetery south of Florence. Don Wiedenmayer and his wife Shirley visited his gravesite in 1971. Tankers of the 752nd Tank Battalion rest in the recently captured Italian village of Monghidoro. This photo taken October 1, 1944 was cleared for publication by Fifth Army on November 11, 1944, the week Morgan lost his life in action.
